Lucky enough to chance on the dragonfly migration the other day! Hundreds of thousands (millions?) of dragonflies all pointed due south, zipping down the coast. Very cool. Very hard to photograph. But over the jungly trees on our dunes many of them had nipped off for a break and a snack; they were zipping over the trees in all directions catching insects.

Seeing the migration reminded me of reading about the dragonfly migration recently: apparently they migrate around the country over 3 generations. One generation migrates north, the next generation migrates south, and a final generation lives in the south over the winter. Pretty cool!
